     Hiring a Wedding Planner

Also, seems like there are a million wedding planners to choose from. Seriously, how many wedding planners are there in the US? Do they all belong to some association or something? If not, should I only hire a wedding planner that is a member of that association?

Dear Hiring a Wedding Planner,

You should make certain that your wedding planner is a professional. Not all planners are trained by one of the associations and qualified. The only requirement that is universal is that you can buy a business card and call yourself a wedding planner. Make sure you are getting one that is full time and not just a hobbiest. The planner should be insured with professional business insurance and have a business license if required in your state or county. Ask for references and vendor references before you hire.
