Is it customary for the bride's parents to host the breakfast the morning after the wedding day? If so, who is invited to attend- family only (and how extensive does this go- we have a lot of cousins) and out of town guests? Bride's future Mother in law asked my daughter (bride) if we were having a breakfast and my daughter was stumped on this question and told her that we most likely were not going to do that, so they made flight plans leaving early morning next day. Please advise. Thank you.

The reason I think your daughter was stumped is there is really no such traditional event. This is an optional party yo can choose to host, or not, inviting whomever you wish to attend. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I completely agree. This is something that some families feel is very important and some not so. It really isn't "traditional" in an etiquette sense though, just optional. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
