How do I locate a wedding Officiant? We live about an hour away from the nearest major city and all of the Officiants I've found online are there and charge outrageous travelling fees. We wanted a spiritual ceremony, but we do have a local courthouse if we need to use a Justice of the Peace, but I'm not even sure how to go about contacting them!!

I am a Wedding Officiant in Seattle and often travel an hour or more out of the area to officiate a wedding. I'm not sure what you mean by "outrageous prices" for an Officiant because I'm sure that all of us have a different sense of price and value for services and products. If you are unable to locate a wonderful Officiant for a fee that works within your budget, you can call you County or City Courthouse and make arrangements to be married by a judge. Also, look in the phone book for retired judges who may be willing to marry you for a fee that works within your budget. In the phone book, look under "weddings." My best to you! We're being married in Elizabethtown, KY. I've only found two Officiants in Louisville, one is no longer working and the other charges almost $100 extra to travel more than a half of an hour. That, to me, is outrageous.
