Married, but still want a reception.

My husband and I eloped.

We were planning to married in October and have informed our family and friends of this date. However, we have been married since the 5th of June and we haven't told anyone about us being married. We had planned on a mock wedding ceremony in October but I don't want to have the ceremony. I want to have a reception party to announce our wedding in October. I want to send invitations out for this event but I don't know exactly what or how to go about planning this event.

What should I do? Unsure

I'm glad you've decided against that "mock ceremony". Not being truthful is no way to begin a marriage, much less a good way to treat your friends and family.

You can still have a reception, a celebration of your marriage. Plan this as you would any other reception.

I agree. The invitations would be to a wedding reception. This can be very much like the traditional reception, except you may want to exclude elements that may seem silly for a couple who has been married for a while. You can decide this for yourself.
