My Fiance and I are having a difficult time choosing a wedding date. We wanted a date that would be special to us, which would ideally have been April 25 (425 is our first address together). Unfortunately my Maid of Honor will be taking exams that week so we had to change it. We decided to just reverse the numbers and have the wedding May 24th instead (5/24). I have lined up several photographers to interview as well as have my heart set on a ceremony/reception site which are all available that date (I haven't booked anything yet). I just realized, however, that that date is Memorial Day weekend. Is that a bad date to use? Over half of our guest list will be flying in, is it rude to ask them to travel over that three day Holiday weekend?

Re: [GrantsMom] Wedding on Memorial Day Weekend

Dear GrantsMom,
It is a consideration. But, some would welcome the extra day to relax after traveling. So, there are pluses and minuses. I wouldn't worry about it. If you can book your venues on that day, it is fine.
