     Seating Arrangements

My fiancée and I have a family memeber as our wedding planner and has helped us with some of the arrangements. She has been helpful but it is coming down to getting the response cards back for the receiption and him and I have to start making table arrangments. She is getting the response cards so I didn't have to try to keep track but I want to start getting them from her so that I can start making the table arrangements. She said that she would help but I don't think she really can because she doesn't know all the people. Plus I would like there to be something that him and I do together and this is it. How can I explain this to her without upsetting her. She just seems like she wants to take control of everything and plan it from beginning to end. And it starting to feel like it is no longer our wedding. Help me! Frown

Honesty + tact = happy wedding couple!

Just tell your family member/wedding planner that you'd like to leave the more detailed work to her as the experienced wedding planner (schmooze her a little) and that you and your fiance want to spend a little time together planning the seating arrangement. Tell her you feel this is a personal choice; choices only you and your fiance can make since you know all of the personalities involved. Tell her you will certainly ask if you need help but that you'd like to handle this portion on your own.
