Should the wedding planner be invited to pre-wedding parties

I have been asked to plan the wedding of a friend. It will be a small community wedding. I am a close friend of the bride's and my husband is not only a friend of the groom's, but is also in the same community club organization as the groom. I am happy to do this for our friends, but I am wondering if we should be invited to social functions that are given to the bridal couple?

Dear Directing,

If these are pre-wedding parties, as a friend you could be. But, as a wedding director, it isn't necessary.

Best wishes,
