     Strange Rehearsal Dinnner

My fiance’s parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner. Chicken and Ribeye steaks will be served, along with the fixings. All the decorations are going to be pretty and everything sounds good except for the fact that my fiance’s mother has bought a bunch of little picture frames to set them all over the tables that people will be eating at, with pictures of my fiancé in them (baby pics, etc.). But NO pictures of me, I’m not jealous at all and I don’t’ mean to sound conceited or anything, but last time I checked this was our wedding, therefore, it’s our rehearsal dinner. Personally, I think her idea sounds really stupid. I keep telling myself to ignore it and let her embarrass herself. Am I being unreasonable? Someone let me know! I want everything to be perfect. Thanks, Tina

Do yourself a favor. Don't expect perfection - you're sure to be disaapointed. I agree - it doesn't really make much sense, but, as my dad used to say, "pick your battles". Is it really worth saying anything? Will anyone notice or even care? As you suggested they may just think his mother's idea of rehearsal dinner decorations is strange.

If it really bothers you maybe your groom should say something to his mother. Coming from him would be preferable. He could maybe make a suggestion that they include some of your pictures and then, if you've been together a while, maybe even some pictures of the both of you as a couple during the years you've been together.

Relax and enjoy the planning. It all goes by so quickly.
