     Table Card Assignment

I don't plan on having table cards at the tables, but, cards set up before going into the reception ballroom with guests' names and table number assignment.

How do I address couples and families? Is it necessary that Mr. John Smith and Mrs. John Smith each have their own or is Mr. and Mrs. John Smith acceptable?

If childern were invited do I address as Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and family? Or do each of the kids get their own card w/table assigment if being seated with their parents?

I feel like this is different than place cards which would be on the table assigned a paricular seat to a guest.

Dear Capricorn,

You could either give each guest their own place card or one for the family since these are not actual place cards. The family cards could simply be labeled as The Brown Family or Mr. and Mrs. F. Brown and family.

Best wishes,
