     Time between wedding and reception

Dear Experts,

Thank you for all the help you have given me these past few months!

My son will be getting married in 2 weeks. They have decided to have their wedding and reception in the narthex of the church as the sanctuary does not have a center aisle. Between the wedding and reception, guests will be ushered into the sanctuary to be "entertained" long enough for the narthex to be transformed and the photographs to be taken.

My husband and I have created a videos of the bride and groom growing up. ( each lasting about 3 minutes) As well as one of them together ( also about 3 minutes) The church is set up to project these videos on a big screen.

My question is, does anyone have any more ideas for ways to keep guests entertained for another 20 minutes? CrazyOur videos will only take up about 10 minutes!

20 minutes isn't that long. Can you serve any sort of refreshments and allw the guests to mingle?

Well....20 minutes may be optimistic on my part! We are not sure how long it will take to do the pictures and set up the narthex. We are hoping to do it all in half an hour.

As far as food goes, the guests will be waiting in the actual church sanctuary, so I don't believe they allow people to eat in there.

Would some sort of music performance be appropriate? My husband is pretty creative....perhaps a video of wedding pictures of the grandparents and parents, ending with a picture of the couple? Or maybe baby pictures of the Bridal party followed by current ones?

I guess we could do videos for most of the time, but do you think that would get boring?

I wish there was a way they could mingle without food!!

They will mingle and if you could have harp or quartet, that would make it even better. The video can be run over because different people will be looking at it at different times. Unless it gets too much over the 20 minutes, your guests should be fine just visiting with each other. The pictures will have to be done by the time they have the narthex set up so that guests can enter. You may want to speak with the photographer about getting as much done before the ceremony as possible.

Thank you for your response. I will definitely speak with the photographer! I think I am probably "over planning" a little! Blush
