My Girlfriend and I have been going to Matchbox 20 concerts since we have met. I wanted to propose to her on stage while a concert was going on, does anyone know how I would go about that, I am going to propose in about two years, but i wanted to get things rolling.
Wow...although a sweet thought...I'd say, unless you know someone, your chance of getting on stage are probably pretty slim.
A cool alternative would be to attend one of their concerts at the biggest facility they play in your area (here in NY it would be something like Madison Square Garden). Select a venue that has a giant scorebaord or announcement board. Contact the arena and ask them how much it would cost to post your proposal. You might even get the attention of the band and have a spotlight on you...who knows?! Be prepared for the audience to razz you a bit but in general you'll probably get a big "AWWWWWWW"!
If you're in an area where the band plays at a baseball or sports arena you can usually pay the announcer to to say your message over the PA.
If you're hell bent on trying for the stage presentation, go to their website and start to do some research...you've got a lot of time there!

Do the research and try contacting every person connected with producing and promoting the concerts....
It IS a sweet thought. Whatever you do, make it memorable. She will never forget it, nor will you.
My favorite proposal story from my circle of couples took place on an empty stage....at Carnegie Hall...he sang to her...and then dropped to his knees....(unbeknownst to them, they had an audience in the balcony who cheered when she said yes!) However, the groom-to-be had the right connections to make that happen.
It's difficult to reach entertainers directly. So, the best way is to approach their promotion managers. For Match Box Twenty, you might want to contact their promotion company which is Lippman Entertainment's Director of New Media, Josh Lippman http://www.lippman-ent.com/. The website lists their email, phone and fax number. Perhaps if you sent an email to him you might be able to pitch the idea as a promotional opportunity for them.
PRIOR to contacting Lippman Entertainment, you might want to get in touch with some of the Wedding TV shows or mags, since your event is not time sensitive. Pitch your idea to them and see if you can get one lined up to film or write about the event, and it might smooth the entry with Match Box as they will then view it as a positive publicity stunt, with further reaching benefits for their client.
If all works well, you might find yourselves with a really cool situation. Good Luck!!! Copen Cabana DJ and Custom Wedding Photo Book Services http://www.knowareland.com
