     Wedding colors

Hi everyone!!Smile

I've been having a little trouble figuring out exactly what wedding colors I should have. I'm one of those people who has strange taste in different color mixes and things of the like. I've never been much of a coordinator. But I want good pictures. And I know that if the whole thing is clashing (bridesmaids, mother's dress, etc) it won't be very aesthetically pleasing. Any ideas on how I should come to a decision and stick with it?

Thanks much!

I'm afraid I will need more information than you provided.

Do you want warm (yellows, golds, reds, oranges) or cool colors (blacks, greys, whites, blues, greens)?

Sorry. You're right. I wasn't detailed there. Well, it's going to be in September. My bridesmaids will be my two little sisters and my aunt. I was thinking of having some fall colors (warm ones, like you noted). But I don't want it to look tacky. We're having an informal wedding and I just want the colors to be in the same family. I think I've got a better idea of what my palette is, thanks to you (and my fiance, who suggested using fall colors). hehe. Thanks so much!

Hmm. Well for warm colors, I suggest that you use the other colors only to highlight.

That is... make your wedding dress color a main color (I suggest ivory since thats warm like you suggested but any color is good and traditionally brides wear white). The guys would wear black of course and one of the warm colors like you suggested (perhaps gold or rust or any of the other colors of fall).

Make the main color the ivory/white and use the other colors you choose for highlighting important things that you want people to see. Meaning, don't overdo it.

Did that help? I'd like to make other suggestions but only if you want them.

I'll admit this is not my area of expertise, but I'll take a shot at answering.

I too tend to do things differently. Since you said you are wanting warm colors, I thought I'd look up a warm color chart on the web. I was brought to this web page regarding colors and how they are used to create click here . I found this study quite helpful myself. Who can teach you more about color than an artist, or art study site?

September in my opinion is an in between zone as far as color goes. You can still go with colors that are appropriate for summer time.

Anyway, I hope this color chart, and study will aide you in color choices.
