When should my fiance put my name on his legal documents?

This is my second marriage. My first lasted only 2 years because my husband died. I had to fight tooth and nail for all monies belonging to him since my name had not yet been added to all insurance, bank accounts, titles, etc.

Now I'm getting married again. When should I ask my fiance to add me to his legal documents? Is is ok to ask him?

Jennie

Jennie -

We don't give legal or financial advice here, sorry. It's fine to have a discussion about money and those types of important issues before the marriage.

Here are a couple of pages that might help:

Prenuptial agreements

Money & Remarriage

Good Luck.
