     Winter Wedding

This may be a stupid question but I'd like to have a Christmas/Winter wedding, the problem is I live in Florida, it doesn't exactly get "wintery" down here, granted it still gets cold but it doesn't snow. I originally thought about having a beach wedding, but those are a dime a dozen, plus a winter wedding would be a lot cheaper, I have a lot of out of towners and the rates down here go down in the winter, also if I used a hotel for my reception the place is already decorated! My question, is having a winter/Christmas wedding in Florida tacky? Any advice?

Dear Melissa:

No, your idea is not tacky. Actually, it sounds wonderful considering that Florida does not get very cold in the winter and your guests will enjoy some very nice savings from your choice in the wedding date. You could have a lot of fun with this theme and since the locale will already be decorated, you may also save on decorations.

Cheers!
