My fiance and I have been together 5 years and we have been engaged for 3. We have finally decided on a wedding date of July 7. We have everything booked and are ready to go. But today my brother told me that that was the date that he was thinking about having his wedding. And apparently I should have known this (he says he told me last year, but I dont remember anything). I dont think he has planned or booked anything. I normally wouldn't have a problem changing the date but we have everything booked and choosing the date was very difficult considering we wanted our wedding in the middle of summer(june or july) and we dont want it too close to any of ours or our childrens birthdays which are june 3, july 25, aug 6. We thought that first week of july was perfect. Now I dont know if we should change our date or if he should.

At this point your only option is to talk to your brother to see if they can change their date. If they don't have anything planned except the date, this shouldn't be a problem for them. Apologize for forgetting that he had told you the date previously. Hopefully this will encourage he and his fiance to move their date.
