I need some advice -- I got engaged in october 2009, and have been planning a wedding for June 2010, as I am in medical school and will begin my residency in July 2010. My brother just informed me that he is planning on proposing to his girlfriend (who i introduced him to, by the way) and that they are also thinking that june 2010 is when they will have their wedding, as she is a class mate of mine and has a similar school-work schedule. I am extremely hurt by my brother's actions, and feel it is completely rude and inappropriate that he would go ahead and plan a wedding within weeks of mine. I have informed him of this, and he says that he understands how i feel but it's what's works best for his future fiancee. Regardless of this i still feel that it is completely wrong to plan a wedding so close to mine. I've talked with my mother and she doesn't want to get involved. I feel completely overwhelmed with sadness and don't know what to do. I am also wondering if there are some rules of etiquette about planning a wedding so close to another sibling?? does anyone have any advice or had any similar experiences?
