from separate states -- where do we have the wedding

I'm sorry if this is a repeat post but I had difficulty finding my answer. I am from the Midwest and my fiancee is from the East Coast. Our question is where to have the wedding. I know tradition usually is to go where the bride is from. However, he has a bigger family and grandparents that don't travel well. I would like to get married in the church that parents and siblings got married in especially since my mother is deceased. How do we handle this? Thank you for your help.Unsure

Dear Robynmjones,

In the 'old days' the parents of the bride paid for her wedding. Times have changed. The couple is financially responsible for their wedding costs. So, today the couple decides where to marry. You may marry wherever you wish.

Best wishes,
