Is it appropriate for us to ask wedding guests who are also musicians to perform at our wedding? If they do, should we pay them and how much would be appropriate?

Dear,

You could ask them, but it should be simply a request. Perhaps asking them if they would like to perform would be best, because they are paying to be on the cruise. So, if they felt as if they 'need' to perform, it would be like they are paying to provide you with the entertainment for your reception. Plus, they would have to pack their instruments, which could be costly and difficult.

Paying them is a personal choice and there is no magic dollar amount.

Best wishes,
