right time for lunch buffet wedding

We are going to have a buffet-lunch style reception after the wedding ceremony- not just finger foods. The reception is at the same location. The wedding is planned to be semi-formal. Some guests will have a 1.5 hour drive to get to the wedding while others only a short drive across town. The wedding will last about 25 minutes with a few pictures afterward. I don't know about the amount of formality that goes with weddings this time of day. What is the appropriate time to have the wedding ceremony? I am thinking about having the wedding at 12:30 or 1:00. Is this okay?

Dear Perfect Timing,

Sure this is fine. Just try to convey that your event is semi-formal through the formality of your invitations. Unless a wedding is Catholic, we tend to think of afternoon weddings as casual.

Best wishes,
