     too late to cancel?

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, both in finances & in time for preparations, my fiance and I are faced with the possibility of canceling our wedding planned for August 15th, 2009. Unfortunately, these new circumstances have come to light in the last week. The invitations went out late last month, and we've already gotten responses from 22 of the 50 guests!

Until now, planning a budget-friendly wedding has been a real joy for us. Now, though, it feel unmanageable and unrealistic. Is it too late to cancel? (To the best of my knowledge, no one has purchased plane tickets or booked rooms, etc.) Please help!

Dear Wondering,

This is another very good reason why invitations are never sent this early. Invitations are sent about two months before the wedding.

Yes, you can cancel. But, you will need to send formal notes stating that the wedding has been canceled or postponed.

Bst wishes,
