     Addressing Rehearsal Dinner Invitations

Is it proper to address rehearsal dinner invitations to a member of the wedding party "and guest"? For instance, to
Mr. John Doe and Guest ?

Thanks.

Dear MM,

These are not usually as formal as a wedding invitation. These are usually like any other dinner invitation. So, you could add an "and guest" if you wish. However, it is always better to indicate that an escort is allowed in the invitation rather than on the envelope.

Best wishes,
