Do We Need a Professional Photographer for Rehearsal Dinner

The bride's family seems to want a professional photographer at the rehearsal dinner. The groom's family doesn't see the need; rather, just have photos taken by friends/family.

What is politically correct?

The rehearsal dinner is supposed to be an informal event, not at all like a reception. A professional photographer is not needed, however, if the host would like to hire one they may. I wouldn't recommend doing so. Weddings are already expensive enough.

I completely agree. Plus, it really doesn't matter what the "families" want. If the couple wants one, they may have one, as long as the host is comfortable with one. The couple is responsible for paying for him/her.

I wouldn't hire one either. I agree that it is much too expensive for that period of time. Plus, this should be a time where everyone just relaxes and enjoys their time together--no posing. Wink
