Rehearsal Dinner Invitations Including Rehearsal Information

I am the groom's mother and hosting the rehearsal dinner as a gift to the bride and groom. My FDIL told me that she wants the invitations to state the time and place of the rehearsal followed by "Cocktails and dinner immediately following" and then list the venue and address of the dinner.

It was my understanding that the invitation should be for the cocktails and dinner only. After all I am not hosting the rehearsal of the wedding.

I don't want to cause discord with the bride (she has been wonderful to me though all the planning) but at the same time I wouldn't want to appear improper.

Is it alright to put the wedding rehearsal information on the invitations or should it be about the dinner only?

Dear Dlduncan,

I agree that including this information would make it appear as if you are hosting the rehearsal as well. But, I suppose it isn't such a huge problem. It is such as small thing and if both of you are fine with it, let this one fly.

Best wishes,

Consider typing up an insert which will have all of the rehearsal in formation on it .
