     Rehearsal dinner gift

We are coming over to Austin Texas from the UK and have been invited to a rehearsal dinner. This is not something we have in the UK. Can you advise if a gift is taken to this occasion please, and if so the nature of the gift?

Many thanks

Dear Out of Town Guest:

Gifts are given at the rehearsal dinner but by the bride and groom to their bridal party to thank them for participating in their wedding. The guests are not obliged to bring a gift.

Have a safe trip!
