Candy Apples

I am also getting married in October, and I wanted to have candy apples as a favor. My question is what is their shelf life? I'm a teacher and I have to work right up until the wedding. Could I make the apples as far in advance as Wednesday (the wedding being Saturday)? If that won't work, does anyone know of a store in westchester county, ny that sells candy apples at a relatively low price?

At room temperature, candy apples last only 2 to 3 days and refrigerated 2 to 3 weeks.
