     Donation instead of favors.

Is it acceptable to make a donation to a charity in the bride's and groom's names in place of wedding favors. We were thinking of putting a card on each table reading --

In appreciation of your attendance today, a donation has been made to The Dana-Faber Institute in honor of Dale and Scott and in loving memory of Rachel Paola (1986 - 2003).

Is this acceptable? If so and you have any suggestions in wording, please let me know. Thanks!

Dear Donating,

Favors really are optional. It is just a nice gesture. So, this would be fine. Please read our article on Making Donations in Lieu of Giving Wedding Favors.

Best wishes,
