We are giving our guests jumbo, gourmet caramel apples. The owner of the restaurant where our reception will be begrudgingly agreed that we could do this, despite her concern about the potential mess and damage to linens.
I thought we could put a label on the favor boxes stating, for example:
"When the festivities are over and the night complete, take this home with you and enjoy a midnight treat!"
We thought this would be a polite way to encourage our guests to eat their apples at home. Is this okay, or is it somewhat rude to hint to guests when then can or can't enjoy their gift?

Dear Inventive Favor,
Some may find fault with this, but I think they would be stretching for it.
