a little confused about wedding favors

Hello,

We are still deciding on what wedding favors to give our guests. I have been reading all of your wonderful advice about wedding favors and about other categories of course. In reference to wedding favors, from what I understand -from other threads- you give one per guest. A friend of mine told me that if it is a personal favor (chocolate, a little bottle of wine etc.) you give one per person, but if it's an object of some kind (candlestick holder....) for the home you give one per couple. Is that correct? The only reason I ask is because if you give for example a little vase for the home the couple will have a duplicate (whereas chocolate is eaten so each guest should get one). Please excuse my confusion.

Thank you

You'll give one favor per guest no matter what the favor since you may have guests who are single or who are a couple but don't love together. It's too confusing to figure all of that out and place the favors out in that way.
