We are having a Catholic wedding at an historic cathedral that starts at 6:30 pm. Would it be too late to serve dinner at the reception? I was thinking of taking pictures before (pictures that don't require the bride and groom be together) and then pictures after to save time. Maybe the guests can start having hors d'oeuvres before we arrive or would that be too much food? We are hoping to book someplace within walking distance of the church.

Dear CanG4life,
Catholic weddings typically take some time, so it is difficult to know. It all depend on when your reception begins. But, it is not polite to make your guests wait if it is during a time they will expect a meal. So, if it is, it is best to offer them something while they wait.
Taking the bulk of the pictures before the wedding is very wise.
