     Afternoon Reception Food Ideas

Hi, I was wondering what is the best menu for an afternoon reception. My wedding ceremony is going to be either at 10 am or 11am,I have not decided what time I want it yet but the reception will end up starting about noon and I was wondering what kind of food should be served? I would think maybe Lunch but will it be proper to have a buffet lunch as a sit down lunch could be too expensive.

Dear OBBride,

Your perception of the sit down dinner can be very decieving. Often times a buffet can end up being more expensive because you have to have enough of everything (several entress are normally offered) for your entire guest list. With a sit down you have enough of what you have selected and it's served.

The best advice I can give you is to talk to your caterer and see what they suggest. You may even be able to do a brunch menu although some brunch menus end after 11 am.
