Bride and groom only want to serve vegetarian meals
My son and his bride are vegetarians, as well as 3 others attending the reception. We, the groom's parents, are payingfor the dinner and would like to accommodate all guests by serving some kind of meat or fish. The bride and groom only want vegetarian meals. This is a destination wedding and guests are spending money on airfare and rooms. We feel we should serve what the majority would like to eat. What do you suggest?

Dear Bookworm,
This is difficult because they probably feel very strongly about this. It is best to offer a more diverse menu, but perhaps the meal can be very good without meat. A good chef can work miracles. So, before giving my typical speech about being good hosts (we provide what our guests expect), perhaps it would be best to check with the venue to see what your meatless options are. If it isn't promising, discuss my typical argument with them.
