We are planning a 2PM wedding with a reception to follow. We are planning on either hors d'eouvres or a dessert reception. Some of the receptions venues we are considering can accomodate the number of guests we want with a standing cocktail party type of set-up with limited seating. Is that acceptable for a wedding reception? Or should we go somewhere with enough tables and chairs for everyone?

Dear Cwmob,
As long as this is not a very long reception and there are enough chairs for those who must sit, this should be fine. Most likely with this type of reception, people will be sitting and standing anyway.
