I am planning a May wedding (outdoor ceremony, but indoor evening reception). My bridesmaids will be wearing a light golden yellow. Flowers for ceremony & reception centerpieces will be white, pale yellow & pink with some green hydrangea. I am going for a traditional look but with a little flair but having trouble keeping it coordinated. Do you think brown table overlays over white linens will look ok? It will be the first time of possibly introducing the brown in the wedding. What sort of effect will this bring? If I use all white linens - would everything just blend? I will also have white chair covers with a light golden yellow (color of champaigne or chardonnay) organza sashes for the chairs. Should I use white or yellow napkins? Would the chair bow in yellow look bad with a brown table overlay?
I am not a design expert, but I think that bringing in the brown at all would be overkill. I would go with the white linens and the pale yellow chair sash to keep it clean and uncluttered. Again, I'm not a design expert, so this is my opinion from having seen hundreds of receptions decorated. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
