Friend hosting wedding party after destination wedding

I offered to throw the bride and groom a little wedding party to celebrate their marriage after a destination wedding that I was not invited to because I am single, although other friends (couples) were. The bride and groom accepted the offer and the bride sent out 100 invitations stating that I was hosting a wedding reception and where they were registered. She also spelled my first name wrong on the invitation. I am rather offended at this point. Now, instead of 20 people or so for a casual barbeque she is wearing her wedding dress and expects a cake. Am I wrong in being extremely offended by this behavior?

Dear Becky,

Extremely offended? Shocked I would be extremely offended, disgusted, aghast...etc. This is obscene behavior.

It is not too late to inform her that as host you need to set the number of guests and the type of party you are willing to host. Plus, you send the invitations, which would never, ever include gift information. Perhaps you can cancel it altogether.

She spelled your name incorrectly?? Jeez. You are a generous person to offer to host a party for a couple who didn't even invite you to their wedding. You deserve nicer friends--sorry, judgment call I know, but this just wasn't nice.

Best wishes,
