I have been to several weddings in which the punch was not my particular fortay. However, my mom and I decided it would be cheap to get bottled water in bulk and put it in a bucket with ice.
However, I do not want a cooler full of ice for this, because that seems tacky to me. My mom suggested that we go to the local dollar store because they have the round buckets in spring colors (considering my colors are silver and lavender).
Would it be tacky to have the plastic purple tub on the table/to the side of the table in this manner? If so, what else could I do to display the alternative drink in ice without being tacky? There will be alot of "big wigs" around and I do not want to look overly cheap, but still be budget savy!

Since I do not know the formality of your wedding, it is difficult to answer your question. I would suggest you contact a rental company or caterer to see if you can rent large clear bowls. This would look much better in almost any situation. I would further suggest that you check into water bottle labels that have your names and wedding date printed on them.
