I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormon). Weddings for a latter-day saint are in the temple and very few people can go, so typically we invite all guests who cannot attend the church to come to a wedding reception. I'm hoping on getting married July 26th and host the reception September 13th. Is that too long to wait to host the reception after the wedding?

Re: How Long After Wedding to Have Reception

Dear Alybow,
No, this is fine. However, the more time passes between the wedding and reception, the fewer traditional reception elements seem appropriate. After all you two will have been married for months. So, you will have to decide what seems a bit odd for a married couple, such as the first dance and the garter and bouquet toss.
