How much alcohol to order for wedding reception?

My fiancé and I will be paying for our wedding. We are having it in a reception hall and are paying for a bartender. We have to buy the alcohol separately. I was wondering if you would know how much alcohol to buy for 140 guests? Most of the guests are occasional drinkers. We were thinking about having 3 of the main liquors which are rum, vodka and peach schnapps for rum and cokes, peach schnapps and orange juice, vodka and orange juice plus we are having 2 different kinds of beer. My fiancé and I are not heavy alcohol drinkers so we do not want a huge amount of alcohol left over... a little bit would be fine. Any help or information on how many bottle of each we would need would be greatly appreciated.

Dear DAWNK,

There are formulas for figuring the amounts of alcohol needed but I've always found it much more successful to work with a reputable liquor store or dealer on a basis of how many guests and they will normally deliver. You return any unopened bottles for refund. You can't lose on that deal.
