Is it appropriate to make guests wait for an hour or more after the ceremony before being able to enter the reception site?

It is not appropriate or desirable. If it cannot be avoided due to available times of the church and the reception site, there should be a planned activity for the time gap. Even in this situation, the activity considered should take into consideration the attire the guests will be wearing. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

Does the reception site have a room where you could provide a cocktail hour? Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
