How to stop drinking and driving after wedding reception.

How do you deal with preventing drinking and driving at a wedding. I am getting married in the suburbs and many of the guests are from the city. Because its so close most want to drive home, but I know they'll be drinking. I have talked to many of my friends and all say "we'll only have a couple" but I wont be able to monitor them like I would at a house party. I would hate to worry about this all night!

Dear DCJS,

This really isn't something you can monitor. But, you could contact a local cab company and ask if he/she will give you a discount for all who will call for a ride home. I have heard of some who hire a limo for the evening also. The limo driver drives everyone home.

Best wishes,

Good advice, Rebecca. Also, consider closing the bar an hour or so before the end of the reception and begin to serve coffee. You might also consider getting a local hotel to book you a set of rooms at a discounted rate and offer these to your guests.

But remember, your guests are adults and will do what they will. You cannot be responsible for their behavior. If you really feel strongly you could simply omit the alcohol altogether or, at least, limit what you serve.
