Order of dances including dance with mother of the bride

Hi,

Just wanted to first say you guys have helped me soooooo much! Thanks. I am very close with both of my parents, me being the baby and the last of 2 other sisters to get married. I feel that my mom, having no sons, never gets the spotlight at any of the weddings. I am having both parents walk me down the aisle, my uncle/ godfather dance with my mom (dedicated from the bride, since it may look a little silly for two women to dance together. Should this be done after the father/ daughter dance or mother/son dance? Does it matter?

It should be scheduled after the father/daughter dance. But, these are all optional and interpretive. If you want to change all the dances, it is your choice.

You could have a dance for the parents. That might be nice.

I think it would be sweet if you danced with your mom. In fact, we list a few Mother/Bride wedding songs at teamwedding.com. Musicians are writing songs for this purpose so there must be enough request for these types of songs. Ask your mom if she's like it.

But, you know, the mother of the bride is treated as special at the ceremony since she is the last seated before the bride's entrance.
