I am the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding this summer. Her younger sister is a bridesmaid. The two of us would like to have some sort of presentation for the bride and groom at the reception. We considered a slideshow with pictures of the bride and groom as babies and throughout the years, but that won't work as the grooms mother lives in Germany and it will be virtually impossible to get any photos of him (his family won't even be attending the wedding, just a few of his friends).
Any ideas on what other kind of presentation we could make??
Is there any way the Mother could scan, or email you the photos? Perhaps there is somewhere like a Kinkos in Germany. If so, she would only need to take her photos, have them scanned, saved to a cd and then she could mail you the cd for your presentation. Rhonda Allen, Bridal Consultant New Beginnings Weddings
Use your friend's baby pictures or your siblings, and put the bride and groom's faces in place of whichever baby. It could be done humorously, and then the images could be put into a slide show presentation with text and audio.
Another idea is to interview friends of the couple and have the video be more like a roast. It could be done nicely as well as with humour and it would be something the couple would appreciate. Thanks for the reply. The impression I got from my friend is that her fiances mom wouldn't have a lot of pictures of him. I don't think they were a very close family, certainly not the picture taking type unfortunately.

Re: [The Video Pros] Presentation Ideas!

I really like the idea of interviewing friends and family members! I guess we could come up with a list of interview questions and pass the camera around.
Just be sure the bride and groom are cool with what you're planning. Many couples have the reception planned down to the minute and there may not be time for additional entertainment. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

No problem there. I'm leary to do anything without consulting the bride so hopefully she's not looking for a surprise at her reception, cause she won't be getting one. The only thing I will keep to myself is exactly what I will say if I have to give a speech. Everything else gets run by her first
