     Reception Invitation Wording

We are having a civil ceremony, with just immediate family. Then we are planning a reception with a larger guest list. What would be appropriate wording for the reception invitations, so as to not offend those that were not invited to the wedding?

Don't worry...most people understand that a couple may choose to have an intimate wedding ceremony due to seating issues or personal preference. So, you would have two invitations; one for the ceremony and one for the reception.

Wording Invitations for Reception Only:

Mr. and Mrs. Bride's Parents

request the pleasure of your company

at a wedding reception

for their daughter

Your Name

and

Groom's Name

etc, etc...

Obviously, only those invitted to the ceremony and reception would receive both invitations; those invited to the reception receive the latter only.
