     Reception

Hi;

We are having an informal wedding and reception. Due to some unforseen circumstances our original july picnic theme wedding has been postponed until November. We are still going to have a picnic theme for the food, hamburgers, brats, potato salad etc. We are also purchasing a keg of beer and soft drinks for the reception. We have hired a bartender and the reception hall will offer mixed drinks. We do not have a problem with the alcohol, but we do not want to pay for the mixed drinks.

How do we get the theme across and let the guest know that there will be beer, and soft drinks provided?

We are older with grown children. We are also welcoming children to the event.

Dear Reception,

It is better to cancel the bartender and not provide mixed drinks at all than to ask guests to pay for it.

Dear LC:

I agree with Nancy. If you are going to serve alcohol than you should pay for the expense, whether that be beer and wine or mixed drinks. If you don't want to pay for the mixed drinks, don't offer any alcohol at all.
