Reception location search - do you pay if invited as guest?
We're looking for a place to have the reception and have just begun our search. A hotel coordinator has invited us as her guest for lunch to sample the food and talk details. Are we expected to pay even though we're her invited guests?

She has invited you and will pay. This is the hotel's way of allowing you to taste the quality of their food and hopefully sway your decision. Enjoy! Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com and http://www.coordinatorscorner.com

I agree. And, even though this invitation was extended to you in hope that you sign with her, it is still a nice gesture. So, it would also be a nice gesture to follow up with a thank you note. This isn't mandatory, but gracious. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
