     Small Intimate Reception

I'm having a small wedding (~40 guests). In your experience, what ususally takes place when doing smaller intimate weddings? Is it still common to use a band / DJ and do all the tradiitonal activities or are there other low key activities that go on (as far as music and enterainment). I'm thinking for that amount of guests, it would be better low-keyed but don't want it to be boring either. Any suggestions please??Unsure

Hello there,

What I'd like to know is what time of day your wedding is? If it's early in the day, you probably could get away with a quartet of classical music, if it's later in the evening, you'd want to provide dance music even for your small group. Either time of day, you would still want to do the cake cutting but many couples are foregoing the bouquet and garter toss.
