I am getting married on St Patrick's Day. While we are not irish, we would like to icorporate maybe one irish theme or tradition into our wedding recpetion, (favors or something like that). Also we were engaged in London, so maybe a British traditon? We are afraid of it coming off cheesy. Our colors are black, white and green. Any ideas?
Thanks, Steph

Since cheesy is in the eyes of the beholder I'll give you some Irish information and let you decide. Here are some Irish themed wedding products and ideas:
1. One of the first thing that comes to my mind when thinking Irish is the bagpipes. Now, some love this music, some feel it's depressing but a live bagpipe player could be a nice addition to your ceremony.
2. For the wedding program - one of the following old Irish vows inscribed on the front and back side of the wedding program or read aloud during the ceremony:
By the power that Christ brought from heaven, mayst thou love me. As the sun follows its course, mayst thou follow me. As light to the eye, as bread to the hungry, as joy to the heart, may thy presence be with me, oh one that I love, 'til death comes to part us asunder.
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Walk beside me and just be my friend.
5. Have you considered Irish dance lessons for you and your attendants?
6. The Irish Wedding Song, a slow waltz-tempo song, is a traditional song for your first dance as husband and wife. Starting alone on the dance floor, the bride and groom are joined by their guests. There are many sweet Irish ballads, such as "Black Velvet Band," "When Irish Eyes are Smiling," and songs by Irish singing groups like the Irish Rovers, not to mention Irish drinking songs and Irish reels, a folk dance of Irish origin. Music can play a significant role in creating the mood for any ethnic wedding.
