     Tent Wedding: Ceremony and Reception

We are having an outdoor wedding in a tent. The ceremony and reception are both in the tent. The guest will be seated at the table where they will be eating. We are having a buffet dinner. We are doing photos before the ceremony. What is the best transition?

If the guests are sitting at the table for both the ceremony and reception, there would be no transition because guests will not have to be moved. After the ceremony, you will simply move to the area previously designated to take your photos and return to the tent to be announced afterward, or as otherwise scheduled.

As for the buffet dinner, guests should be called to the buffet line by table numbers. This prevents that backup line we so often see at these types of dinners. The bridal party should be served while they are seated either by wait staff or ushers.
