     Too Long of a Reception?

Hi! I am getting married at 5:30 p.m. We plan to have a "social hour" from 6-7 followed by a dinner buffet at 7:00 p.m. Dancing starts at 8:00. And we plan to go until about 11:00 p.m.....is this too long for a reception?

Thank you!!

Dear Sttaylor:

Receptions usually fall into 4, 6 or 8 hour blocks of time. Your tentative itinerary falls in line with this and isn't too long.
