     Wedding Cake Alternatives

I searched and searched for a post like this but I couldn't find anything. So I figured this was a good place to post my question.

I am unable to tolerate to milk. It takes very little to make me sick so I tend not to take chances. My fiance doesn't like cake much so we were planning to skip the bride and groom feed each other part. My aunt keeps telling me that it's very rude of us to not feed each other cake when she is paying for it. (She always pays for the cakes as wedding gifts.) I want to try and come up with reasonable solutions for cake alternatives.

If you find the right baker, he/she should be able to provide you with a milk free cake solution. I would call around and ask. But, if you still need ideas for alternatives to the cake I would suggest anything you like. I've heard of doughnuts, chocolate dipped fruits, pies, any type of dessert you and your fiance like.

Remind your aunt that it would probably not be nice for your wedding guests to see the bride vomit on her white gown. That image should help get her off your back. Wink

I completely agree. Plus, the tradition of the wedding cake and feeding to each other is very old and really doesn't have anything to do with our lives today. We can view as a symbol of both of you caring for each other. But, the entire wedding is a symbol of this. So, you could even skip the entire wedding cake and have what you wish.
