What to do with time between ceremony and wedding reception.
OK, the wedding's over and the reception site is located only a 5-minute drive away. The guests drive over to the reception site, after the bridal party is whisked away in the 20-passenger limo.
Obviously, the limo driver will use up 45 minutes or so to allow the guests time to arrive prior to the entrance of the bridal party. (1) What should the bridal party expect during this time in the limo, and (2) What should be happening at the reception site as people arrive and are waiting for the bride/groom??

Dear Anxious:
The limo driver will not use up 45 minutes to transport your wedding party to a reception site 5 minutes away unless you specifically ask for that. It is not a given. Generally, they work on the time schedule you set up in your contract so is this what you want? If so, then you will need to determine how best to keep your wedding party entertained in the limo. Don't expect the limo company to do this.
As for what happens when guests arrive at the reception, again that depends on what you want. Most frequently, some type of cocktail hour is scheduled to fill in the time between the ceremony and reception. But how long a cocktail hour would be is set based on your reception start time.
Cheers!

Some couples use this time to take their wedding pictures. Speak to your photographer, limo company and wedding banquet manager and ask for their input. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
